No joke one time my insurance dropped me while I was in an eating disorder clinic after three days cause I “was physically healthy” and they deemed I didnt need the help.

Babes, I learned something about Diet Coke in biology class today and I wanted to share it with you.
Apparently drinking diet/zerocal sodas is just as bad for you as drinking normal sodas.
When you drink these beverages, your brain receives the signal that you’re having something sweet, so it sends this information to your pancreas, which produces insulin. This causes weight gain and high levels of sugar in the blood.
So you basically skip the calories and go straight for the shit that makes you fat.
This doesn’t happen with fruits because they contain fiber and vitamins.

@prettiempty just looked up a study made by the American Diabetes Association: “Although insulin responses tended to be more pronounced 20 and 25 min after glucose ingestion in the diet soda condition, these differences did not reach statistical significance (20′ P = 0.20; 25′ P = 0.28). Insulin AUCs were not statistically different (carbonated water 62,540 ± 7,646 pmol/l per 180 min vs. diet soda 62,164 ± 7,688 pmol/l per 180 min; P = 0.75). Peak insulin levels occurred 12.3 min earlier in the diet soda condition; however, again this difference was not statistically significant (P = 0.12).”
In short: that post is a huge exaggeration of this study. There is more insulin, but not on a significant level.
